The airspace of any region is classified as either controlled airspace or uncontrolled airspace. Controlled airspace is a generic term covers airspace classifications. Controlled airspace means airspace of defined dimensions within which, Air Traffic Control is provided to IFR and VFR flights. The level of service depends on the airspace classification.
Designation of the airspace and controlled aerodromes where air traffic services will be provided in particular portions of the controlled airspace or at particular aerodromes shall be defined by the appropriate ATS authority and as coordinated with other concerned authorities. Those portions of the airspace or those aerodromes shall be designated in relation to the Air Traffic services that are provided.
