Caribbean Aviation Training Centre Print E-mail

The Caribbean aviation Training Center is a modern flight training academy located at the Tinson Pen Aerodrome in the capital city of Kingston, Jamaica. Kingston enjoys warm weather all year round with an average temperature of 86°F/32°C. The rainy months are May, June, October, and November with an average rainfall of 32 inches/810 mm per year. Jamaica is the most beautiful island in the Caribbean and its scenery from the air is breathtaking.
The island has two international airports located in the two major cities of Kingston and Montego Bay. The Norman Manley airport in Kingston is approximately three minutes flight time from CATC, and provides an excellent training environment for instrument training and pilots seeking a career in commercial aviation.
The Tinson Pen aerodrome is the largest aerodrome on the island with a usable runway length of over 4,000 feet (1,219 metres). The runway can accommodate aircraft as large as the Astra SPX, and also offers Airport Traffic Advisory Services from 0600 to 1900 hours local daily with runway lighting available upon request.
